The Loggers is a Time-Life Books in the Old West Series with text by Richard L. Williams. The discovery of the abundance of trees, especially in California, Washington and Oregon drew the logging companies. Methods of logging are discussed. Indian tribes in the areas are also mentioned. There are some pages devoted to the mansions built by the lumber barons.
