Scope and Content

McDonald, Mary St. Joseph News-Press January 28, 2001 is a tribute to black history. The article is written by Colleen M. Dorsey. This paper has the story of Mary McDonald. She was the youth pastor at Holsey Chapel. She is one of few females in leadership position in the black community. For the past five years Rev. McDonald, now 40 has served as youth minister at Holsey Chapel, an independent Methodist church in St. Joseph Midtown section. Before that she was an associate minister under Rev. Charles Johnson. As the daughter and granddaughter of very active church members she'd come to worship in the pews at Holsey Chapel for years, but it wasn't until she was about 25 that she realized she was to minister. She has a daughter and son. When she is not a church, she works at Boehringer Ingelheim as an account services specialist. If she has any other spare time, you can find her at the bowling alley. The newspaper is a photocopy and it has a photocopy picture of Mary McDonald in the folder.
