Legend: "Sam Macchett Ranch Pony Express Station. Now the Upper '96' Ranch, located 6 miles S.W. of Brady, NE. This picture was taken before the building was torn down and moved to the City Park in Gothenburg, Nebr. The second-story was added in the early 1880's. Macchett Canyon is near this point and received its name from Sam Macchett who was in charge at this Pony Express Station."
