Mills, Thomas and Hughes, Bella M. Certificate land Grant Missouri, 1846. Thomas Mills and Bela M. Hughes became the purchasers of the North East quarter and the North half of the South east quarter of section sixteen in Township 57 of range 35 containing 240 acres at the price of two dollars and 8 1/3 cents per acre being land granted by the United States to the State of Missouri for the use of the inhabitants of said Township for the use of schools, for the sum of 282 dollars which sum, it further appears, has been fully paid by the said Mills and Hughes.
Now in consideration of the premises, and in conformity with the provisions of the hereinbefore recited acts, the state of Missouri hath given and granted, by these presents does give and grant unto the said Mills and Hughes and their heirs the said tract of land above described. Signed by the governor of Missouri John Edwards March 19, 1846.
