Scope and Content

Missouri Methodist Hospital Structural Steel Non-conformance Letter from Lehr Construction, June 4, 1924. Letter from J.W. Lehr, President, to Missouri Methodist Hospital Board regarding cracks in the flooring, slab. The Board had asked to keep these conditions confidential, which Lehr declines. He attaches the Consulting Engineers report that indicates the steel delivered (which the Board ordered without competitive bids) did not meet specification and caused an overload condition. Lehr is concerned about the reputation of his company and asks for a public statement to clear his company of any dubious claims. Also includes handwritten calculations on Estimate Blank form.
