Description

Missouri Sketch Book, A Collection of Words and Pictures of the Civil War is just that. The author, Clifton C. Edom, teacher of Photojournalism at the University of Missouri, felt that Civil War sketch artists were good reporters and good recorders of events and also felt that too often, illustrations and pictures did not include adequate descriptions. Pictorially and verbally, Edom takes you back more than a century to what people were seeing--and reading--in magazines and newspapers during those hectic years. Included is a Chronology of Battles, Skirmishes and Events of the Civil War in Missouri. This book is from the library of Reid and Virginia Woodbury. 163/Hardbound/Illustrations/Maps.
