Notes
The Missouri Valley Independent was a news outlet for the St. Joseph chapter of the Ku Klux Klan. Most of their publications were focused on anti-catholicism, anti-semitism, American ultranationalism, and happenings in Protestant social circles and fraternal organizations.
The paper operated from 1923 to 1927 when it briefly attempted to distance itself from the Klan and instead be directed towards the happenings in all fraternal organizations under the name "The Fraternalist".
