Motter Mansion Christmas Decorations, 21st & Jules, Guy Chestnut Photos, Nov. 27, 1988. St. Joseph, Missouri. Color snapshots in mini-album.
A = Greenery surrounding oval mirror
B = Small round, marble-top table, decorated with greenery/doves, two pink glass globe lamps.
C = Staircase, decorated with white bows, garland.
D = Staircase newel post with white corinthian pillar beside. Bannister wrapped in green lighted garland. White Christmas trees of various shapes/materials behind.
E = Antique settee of dark, elaborately carved, wood. pink & blue velvet pillows on seat. sitting between Christmas tree & fireplace.
F = Two dark, elaborately carved wooden side chairs, seem to match settee above. Small table between with gold cherub pedestal. Sits beside Christmas tree.
G = Table against wall with elaborate decoration of greenery, snow, "twig" trees painted white with lights, Nativity scene focusing on Magi.
H = Chandelier as seen from 2nd floor. Brass & glass, octagonal.
I = Toys under the Christmas tree, rocking horse, antique trike, jack n box, stuffed animals.
J = Christmas tree decorated with white doves.
K = Antique bed, full size, blue spread covered with lace overspread. Dark wood carved headboard. white wicker chest with padded top at foot of bed. Caption says "Canopy bed" but canopy not visible. See "L" below
L = Canopy for bed in "K" above.
M = Bedroom fireplace, white stone tile, white wood surrounding. white fireplaces screen with glass inserts. low table in front with flower decorations. White lighted garland drapes from mantle ledge.
N = Large table with three inlaid green marble insets on top. Gold painted accents in carvings. O = Close up of marble inlays from "N" above. Caption: "Table belongs to Smithson Institute"
P = Antique Chest of Drawers, large, carved "legs" along each side. Three drawers, top may be hinged.
Q = White garland on door entrance, similar to "A" above.
