Description

Nebo Hill and Late Archaic Prehistory on the Southern Prairie Pennisula. The study of the Nebo Hill Phase in Missouri is documented through a survey of the archaeological literature and technical reports. From Shippee's initial report in 1948 through the end of the mid 1970s, Nebo Hill studies were based on descriptions and comparisons of surface collections and the limited excavation of one site. Knowledge of the Nebo Hill phase increased greatly over the next 10 to 15 years with the detailed excavation of several Nebo Hill sites and the refinement of the Kansas City's region's overall cultural-historical sequence. 133/Softbound/Illustrations/Maps/Photographs/Tables
