Description

Nevada Pony Express Route was part of the Historic Digest and Interim Recreation Management Plan. Each station is listed with legal description of location and historic information. The BLM researcher also details what remains at each site. Excellent resource. A table at the beginning lists present condition and ownership as it was in 1975. Another table lists miles between stations by actual route and recommended access and the best method to access the site. Also included are notes regarding St. Joseph Museum research as to station keepers and riders. A letter from National Geographic to Don Reynolds indicates that this publication was sent to Don as a thank you for his help on July 1980 issue. Note: First 8 pages were scanned to disk. A copy of this publication is in the Pony Express pamphlets in addition to this copy in the library. 112/Photocopy in notebook.
