Nevada Pony Express Route, Historic Digest and Interim Recreation Management Plan was written as part of the commemoration of our country's Bicentennial. It is a Pony Express Bicentennial Action and Interim Recreation Management Plan prepared by the Bicentennial Pony Express Coordinators in 1975. The overall Program goals were to provide the public with an interpretation of the Pony Express by July 1, 1976 and to provide a visible means for the public to follow the trail via foot, horse or vehicle by the most practical existing roads and trails. Some of the general goals of the program were to preserve the Pony Express Tail for its significant historical value by physically and interpretatively protecting cultural values, nominate the trail for inclusion in the National Trail System, provide for public use and interpretation of the 420 mile segment through Nevada by June 30, 1976, schedule a re-enactment of the Pony Express ride along the trail as part of the Bicentennial commemoration. This book includes a history digest of the Pony Express. This book is part of the Don Reynolds Collection
