News from Emigrants on the Plains, St. Joseph Gazette, July, 1850, an poingant description of the devastation of cholera along the trail, listing the names of Missourians found on grave markers, and their counties, including Buchanan. Especially dramatic description of the great multitude on the trail, the desperate behavior of some emigrants. and lists the number of emigrants on Ft. Laramie's record book.
