Prisoners of Civil War from Buchanan County
St. Joseph Police Department, 1903 , established by Governor in 1887, lists commissioners, names of detectives, patrolmen, matrons, etc. and wages
St. Joseph Sewers, describes establishment of sewer system after turn of century and E.F. and William Mignery's, brick mason/concrete contractor, involvement. (Mignery also did the brickwork on the Hotel Robidoux, City Auditorium, Donovan Building, Block Building, Mule Barns at Stockyards, Bartlett Block (Frederick Ave between 8th & 9th), Battreal-Whittington Shoe Company, and an addition to the Noyes-Norman factory. William was killed in 1908 at the Hotel Robidoux jobsite when a brick from the 6th floor fell on his head.) The story includes interesting information on how the Mignery family made it through the Depression and after.
