1861).
Father of Josiah Beatie Moss, he was married to Susan Henry Beatie in 1845. The Moss
and Beatie families, originally from Virginia and Kentucky, settled in the St. Joseph area in
the very early 1800's and were pioneer landowners. After Mr. Preston Moss's death at age
40, Susan Moss married Mr. Lewis V. Fleming, 1871. She died in 1882.
