The Foreword is by Gore Vidal. This book is really an autobiography--"her story of her flamboyant life and loves." Ms. Guggenheim "fell in love with the vanguard of the literary and art world, stayed twenty years [in Europe] and eventually became a major patron and collector of modern art."
