PEN & INK/TURTLE

The image is an intricate black and white illustration featuring a detailed depiction of a turtle with a textured shell, nestled among foliage with broad leaves and a blooming flower. In the background, silhouetted against the light, are three birds in various motions, seemingly walking or striding through tall grass. The contrast between the detailed foreground and the shadowy, simplified forms of the birds creates an engaging composition. The artist's name and edition number, "Charles W Schwartz 136/400," are handwritten at the bottom left, indicating this is a limited edition print, which adds both artistic and collectible value to the piece.
