Two letters from former St. Joseph Museum's Director Roy E. Coy to the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, DC & The American Museum Of Natural History in New York, N.Y.
In these to letters Director Roy Coy is requesting information from both Museum's regarding a " Three-quarter grooved stone axe" that was found near Avenue City, MO. It was found to be very likely Prehistoric and in the larger range of known sizes. Neither Museum is unable to confirm a tribe to whom the axe may have belonged to.
