Building Circa: 1908
In 1909, the Block Brothers, Ellsworth, Samuel and Harry Block, started the Block Brothers Clothing Company at 521-523 Felix
The building still standing today at the same location of 6th & Felix
Originally, in 1901, Henry Auerbach, Henry Guettel and Moe Mayer opened the Plymouth Dry Goods at Fifth and Felix streets
The Plymouth Dry Goods moved to this location in 1932 when Blocks closed its doors
The building burned in 1947 and the Plymouth spent $500,000 rehabbing the structure
Both, Block Brothers and Plymouth, were popular downtown department stores featuring clothes for men, women and children
The Plymouth closed permanently in 1976 and the building has gone through many businesses ever since
Today, Mosaic has acquired the property and has plans for a major restoration
