The original building at this address no longer exists. The structure in photo #1 was built in 1926 and 1927 as an oil station and garage. The building permit was in the name of "Basket Store" and the price listed in 1926 was $4,000. This modern style structure is later in the period than the surrounding high-quality 19th and 20th Century commercial buildings, however, it is compatible in use and scale and would contribute to the establishment of a historic district in the area.
The building seen in photo #1 no longer exists, it has been replaced with another building
