Doty's Cafe circa 1957. Located at 304 Edmond Street.
This commercial structure was built in 1897. One of the building permits was in the name of Charles and Thomas Burnett, who had a loan office at 304-306 Edmond and lived above it. The cost given on this permit was $1,850. The permit for 302 Edmond was in the name of G. W. Morris at a cost of $700. Louis Winter had a saloon here in 1899. This commercial block retains its Beaux Arts Classicism inspired cornice molding and it's original second story window treatment.
Owners: G. W. Morris; Charles and Thomas Burnett
This building was scheduled for demolition in 1990.
A redevelopment plan for the entire block, beginning with the north half had been proposed.Collection
