The tall building on the left is the Corby Building and the building on the right is the former Einbenders building.
In 1957, the Mechanics Bank built and occupied its new building on the NW corner of 5th & Edmond Street, leaving its prior location at 5th & Francis location.
Also in 1957, The Orpheum theater behind Einbenders and across the street from the bank was razed and later became a Mechanics bank parking lot
In later years, the Commerce Bank took over the Mechanics Bank location, with the St Joseph Safety Council occupying the lower level of the bank.
This branch of the Commerce Bank closed in December 2025.
On the left, across Edmond street is the corner bus terminal.
