Context

It was originally thought that this was Joseph Robidoux's first house. The log cabin was built by Native Americans for Joseph Robidoux. It was the 1st building to be built in St Joseph prior to 1830. This house was originally located on the northwest corner of 2nd & Jules Street. The city later moved the house to Krug Park where it was visited by thousands. In the 1930's, park officials decided that the cabin was not the Joseph Robidoux cabin and it was removed from Krug Park.
