Edmond Street Between 5th & 6th - 2014 Edmond Street Mural
During urban renewal 10 buildings on Edmond between 5th and 6th were demolished, and replaced by a parking lot. leaving a gaping unsightly empty visual space.
August 2014: the city hired an artist to paint a mural on the backside of all of the Felix Street buildings
An outline image was first projected onto the buildings, then the outline was painted using the bucket lift as seen in photo #2
Some days later, the mural colors had been painted. Quite a feat
This mural is visible from people heading north on I-229, a great downtown improvement
The city has replaced the original parking lot with a much better parking lot in 2014Context
