Description

605-611 Felix - Leader Department Store, Sturges,Ellingwood and Goerman, S. S. KRESGE 5 & 10, .... The Leader Dept store thrived at this location for most of 3 decades. In 1917 the leader moved to 602 Francis Street, it's new building that would occupy for a short time. That building would later become the new location for Townsend and Wall, across from the St. Francis Hotel and Lee's Record and Radio Shop. The Leader sold this location to S.S. Kresge's that became the last major occupant of this location. After Leader's move to the SE corner of Francis Street, S. S. KRESGE also thrived at this location. Today, this location is a parking lot.
