315 S 6th - Downtown Family YMCA, Missouri State Employment Service, HUDDLESTON-SNAVELY GARAGE, Greyhound Bus Depot This YMCA was built in 1978 to replace the old YMCA on Felix Street built early in the century. This YMCA subsumed the entire block between 6th and 7th street. YMCA operations have since moved to the Campus Family YMCA, 3601 N Village Dr., St. Joseph, MO 64506. The Missouri State Employment Service building at 614 Charles Street was razed to build the YMCA. The Greyhound bus depot at SE corner of 6th and Charles was demolished during urban renewal. In 1895, J F Campbell Carriage Works was located at 911 Francis Street. It moved to 613-615 Charles Street. John F. Campbell and Frank Gawatz are listed in then1900 City Directory at the Charles street address.
