Context

The Colonial Hotel at 104 North 2nd Street was one of many downtown hotels to serve the booming St Joseph population. This hotel stood near the market square and old city hall. The hotel occupied the upper floors of this building and the Blum Brothers tavern was located on the bottom floor. Tavern/restaurant existed from approximately 1907-1960.
