Plain Talk About Art helps the layman understand the language of art. The author says, "Basically, this book is intended for easy alphabetical reference for the student of art appreciation. It is not an encyclopedia, a history book or a technical textbook. It is hoped, however, that its perusal will lead to a deeper study of art." She also included a Color Vocabulary at the end of the book which "will assist the spectator to view painting with an appreciation for color and to understand the terminology of critiques."
