Pony Express Riders, People's Forum, 1940. Editor News-Press "Old Resident" writing in the Forum of April 4 voices disappointment relative to our Pony Express celebration. The writer says the family of one of the Pony Express riders--the only relatives now living in St. Joseph of any Pony Express rider--was completely ignored. The relatives are descendants of John Cliff, a well-known Pony Express rider. The author of this article states that he sincerely hopes that when they have a program for the dedication of the new Pony Express monument in Civic Center the children of Johnny Cliff will receive due recognition.
