Meers announced last night. The printed envelopes will be packed in saddle bags of the horse making the westward trek from the Pony Express stables the afternoon of April 3. At San Francisco, the envelopes will be mailed at a U. S. post office where they will be cancelled and forwarded to the addressees. About two weeks will be required to get the letters to California by horse and back by regular mail. All persons interested in obtaining the 1960 centennial envelopes may send their requests to Pony Express Mail, in care of the Pony Express Museum, 9th and Penn streets, St. Joseph. A charge of $1 per envelope will be made to cover cost of expenses. Any profits from the cacheted covers will be used to purchase gasoline for the caravan of riders and cars making the trip to Salt Lake City. All requests for special envelopes should include the desired name and address to be placed on the outside of the souvenir cover. Checks to cover the cost of the envelopes should be made out to the Pony Express Museum. There is a picture of the cacheted cover in the article.
