3 of Pony Rider Fry's Descendants Meet, April 1, 1994. St. Joseph News-Press article. Photo of Floyd Cordonier, Mary Cordnoier Duncan and Martha Jones, along with Museum staff members visiting grave of Pony Rider, Charles Cliff in Mt. Mora Cemetery.
The article details a Pony Express program in which the museum staff had located two descendants of Johnny Fry, purported to be the first Pony Rider out of St. Joseph. This brother and sister from Kansas City, KS were the great-grandchildren of Fry's sister, Sarah.
In the crowd that day was Martha Jones, a St. Joseph resident, who was the grandchild of Ransom Fry, Johnny's older brother. Ms. Jones said she knew about her lineage but had not made a big deal of it, until she saw the announcement in the paper about the Cordonier's coming to town. The story continues on page 6 but that page was not included.
