Mary Leach Moss, wife of J. B. Moss. After Mr.
Moss died in 1942, Mrs. Moss went to live with
her daughter, Catherine, and son-in-law, John D.
Barrow. She had lost her eyesight to glacoma.
She had loved to read. Her great consolation
was listening to the Metropolitan Opera
broadcasts from NYC. This gave my mother, who
as a child found this elderly lady, her grand
mother, rather trying, a life long dis-like of opera.
She was much loved by her friends and was a
very intelligent and cultivated woman, one of the
founders of the St. Joseph Runcie Club.Context
