A post card from William Myers (aka Buddy) in Armed Guard School, Gulfport, Mississippi to Buddy Jennings (aka William Jennings). The front of the card is a cartoon of a largely built sailor sitting on a wall smoking a cigarette. Two dogs are behind the wall, one says to the other :The Navy certainly is in pretty good shape".Context
Dear Bud, Well today is Sat and we are getting ready to leave on liberty. We may go to New Orleans. I hear Jack Tadlock has joined the Navy I guess there are a lot of fellows joining up, I think it is silly to join until nessarry. They probly will be sorry afterwards anyway. Well I will write again soon. Buddy
