Register Cliff Marker, Guernsey, Wyoming, Photo, 1957. Wooden historical marker near Register Cliff.
"In the shadow of the chalky cliffs on the south bank of the Platte River the Oregon Trail caravans were wont to make first night camp after leaving Fort Laramie. Many took time to carve names, dates or messages for the use of those following. The place took on early fame as Register Cliff. Hundreds of names are still legible on the surface of the rock.
Register Cliff Park is a definite link with the romantic past. It is reach by turning south from the Oregon Trail Monument in downtown Guernsey (½ mile) cross the Platte Rive and then east on a very easily travelled road, 3½" miles from this marker."
