This file of 18 pages contains 5 documents. 4 are letters from Joseph Robidoux at Blacksnake Hills to Pierre Chouteau. All are in French and 3 have typescript translations. The last letter is from Pierre Chouteau in St. Louis to Ramsey Crooks in New York, one of the officials of the American Fur Company. This letter is in English and discusses fur trade business and prices. There seemed to be some difficulty in dealing with Roy and Robidoux.
In the letters from Robidoux, he speaks of "greedy Sacs." There seems to be a shipment of merchandise coming for annuities to the Indians. Robidoux wants the goods to be shipped to him to hold until the Indian Agent arrives to disperse them to the Indians fairly.Collection
