Robidoux, Felix, Letter to F.P. Corby Consenting to Marriage with Josephine,1861, Photo. Photo of letter sent by Felix to Corby agreeing to his proposal of marriage to Felix's daughter Josephine.
"St. Joseph, Apr. 23/61
Mr. F.P. Corby,
Dear Sir,
Yours of the 4th inst was duly rec'd.
Having confidence in you and believing that you will be a kind protector to our Josephine in future, we have given our consent to your union, trusting that she will be as good a wife as she has been a dutiful daughter. We part with her reluctantly, but we trust in God, and sincerely hope that you will live together happily. Josephine tells me that you wish the wedding to come off in the latter part of May. We have no objection, so we have sufficient time for preparation. You can let me know about the time, we can expect you.
Yours respectfully,
Felix Robidoux"
