"He is is No. 1 in the James Treacy collection of photographs of St. Joseph men. He was born in St. Louis on May 8, 1820, his mother being Angelique Vaudrey Robidoux. Fleix became the youngest of eight sons and daughters of Joseph Robidoux in 1851 when his younger brother Charles was shot to death while on a Halloween frolic in St. Joseph. A street in St. Joseph is named for Charles and another for Felix, and still another one for Angelique, their mother.
Felix was a conservative, studious type. He was an early merchant in nearby Savannah, Missouri, where he married Jane Catherine Smith, the niece of George Smith of the St. Joseph firm of Smith, Bedford, and Tootle. Their daughter Josephine married F.P. Corby in St. Joseph in 1861. Their daughter is Marie Louise Corby Walrond recently died in Miami, Florida. The St. Joseph Historical Society fell heir to three large pictures of Josephine and F. P. Corby, her parents. The pictures in their original gilt frames will soon be on exhibit at the St. Joseph Museum.
Felix Robidoux died in St. Joseph in 1873."
