Julius, Son of City Founder, Wrote Own History by Ada Lyon.
A treasure-trove of St. Joseph history is in the possession of Mrs. S. H. Pollock of Kansas City. It is the battered book labeled "Records", and compiled by Julius C. Robidoux, second son of Joseph Robidoux, founder of St. Joseph. The book has been in two floods, and through the pages are loose, none are lost. The paper is warped but the writing is legible, Information supplied within the small volume should settle more than one disrupted point in St. Joseph history. The events described in the book are especial in interest today because this date is the 175th anniversary of the birth of Joseph Robidoux. He was born August 10 1783. There are other interesting stories about the Robidoux in this article
Mrs. Pollock is related to the Robidoux family by marriage. She is Ruth Messmore Pollock, related not to the Robidoux's but to Orral Messmore who married Louis Robidoux, son of Julius.
