Description

Roughing It by Mark Twain is basically fiction, as he says, it includes "a good deal of information." In the story, he travels westward and encounters situations as he goes along--some of which are already known in our history, such as silver-mining in Nevada, the Pony Express and some of the Express stations such as: Honey Lake Smith's state station, Horse-Shoe Station and Laparette Station. Twain & his mother come to St. Joseph by steamer and transfer to stage coach. He mentions his visit in St. Joseph. This book is from the Don Reynolds collection. 330/Hardbound
