In 1953, Safeway was in this building.
The building has been remodeled since Safeway occupied the space.
At one time the US Post Office was located here.
It is currently owned by the National Association of Letter Carrier Union.
They rent the hall out for dances, meetings, reunions,weddings and any other events requiring a large hall.
Early morning on June 8, 2014, a car headed north on St Joseph Avenue crashed straight into the building, making no attempts to stop or make the curve.
All 3 people in the car were taken to the hospital.
