Samuel Hallet and the Union Pacific Railway Company in Kansas. Brief history of Hallet's building of the Union Pacific from the Missouri-Kansas line in present Kansas City west through Kansas. Author contends that if it had not been for Hallet's murder in 1864, it might have been the Kansas Union Pacific that met the Central Pacific in Utah to form the first railroad link with the west coast.
