Seventy Years on the Frontier, according to the title page is Alexander Majors' Memoirs of a Lifetime on the Border with a preface by "Buffalo Bill" (General W. F. Cody). Born in Kentucky in 1814, Alexander Majors first saw St. Louis when it was a frontier post with a few scattered buildings with only a single ferry engaging but three workmen to transport furs and other goods across the river. Included in this memoir are tales of Kit Carson, Buffalo Bill, the Gold Rush, early freighting of supplies across the western plains, his association with Russell and Waddell and the Pony Express. There is an index at the end. This book is from the Don Reynolds library. Printing of this book was limited to 2,000 copies. 345/Hardbound/Illustrations.
