Shadow box from the Shadow Box Room, penciled on top #13. A. - Long rectangular divided into two scenes, left scene living room, right scene bedroom, an open doorway between the two. @30" long, 10 1/2" wide, 9 1/4" tall.
Living room scene (left side box): attached to the inside are (left wall) framed painting farm scene in winter, oval framed portrait, (left back corner) corner 5-shelf unit with various plates, etc. displayed, (back wall) 2 oval framed portraits, (right wall) rectangular framed painting of a family grouping, (ceiling) crystal 5-candle chandelier. Separate pieces:
B - Red velvet cushioned couch, wooden trim with scrollwork detail. 6" wide, 4 1/2" tall.
C & D - red velvet cushioned chairs, wood trim with scrollwork detail. 3 1/4" tall.
E - Red velvet cushioned arm chair, wood trim with scrollwork detail. 3 3/4" tall.
F - Stone fireplace with scrollwork design, 2 2-stick candelabra. 5" wide, 6" tall.
G - Brass fireplace hearth guard. 4 1/2" wide, 1/2" tall.
H - Round table, with ecru cloth covering, lace trim around edges to floor. 2 3/4" diam top
I - miniature ivory(?) elephant. 3/4" tall.
J - miniature round woven basket with handle. 1" tall.
K - miniature square woven basket with tomatoes(?)
L - Miniature book, floral cover
M - miniature oil lamp. 2" tall.
N - female doll, clothes pin body, long pale green floor length skirt with blue/white/pink ruffle along hem and down back, golden yarn hair, no face! poor thing
O - wooden birdcage with bird inside on a tall black slender-leg table.
Bedroom scene (right side box): attached to the inside are (left side) silver oval framed mirror, (back wall) two gold framed oval portraits and one wooden framed rectangular mirror, (right wall) one wooden framed portrait and large square silver bed headboard, (ceiling) gold metal chandelier with gas lamp. Separate pieces:
P - wooden dresser, 2 drawers and two door cabinet below all of which open, and a hinged top which opens
Q - wooden high-back rocking chair
R - tall wooden sewing box
S - wooden green-cushioned chair, plain back
T - wooden dresser, 2 small drawers, 4 wide drawers, scrollwork for mirror, each side of top has a doily with a candle and candle holder attached.
U - wooden green-cushioned chair, scrollwork back and legs
V - black wooden stove with silver teapot attached on top
W - bed, off-white spread with pink bed skirt, gold ornate feet, 2 pillows with lace trim
X - girl doll, clothespin body, golden yarn hair, carrying a doll (or baby) in lace dress
Y - rectangular wooden table, legs broken down
Z - 3 round green pillows with tatted doily lace attached to tops
AA - small wooden tray
BB - round gold metal tray with flower vase & flowers on top
CC - rectangular metal try with small yellow glass pitcher on top
DD - chamber pot, porcelain with flowers and "Bonne Nuit", "Limoges" stamped on bottom
EE - miniature painted China figurine, boy in native dress carrying a rabbit(?).Collection
