The Silver Star Pin (65.12.830) was captured from Major Gen. Heath of the Confederate Army at the Battle of Perryville City, Cherokee Nation on July 4, 1863. The note was acknowledged and signed by C. M. Thompson, Notary Public in Buchanan County, Missouri with a stamped seal on October 18, 1867.
