Two pages from day book list activities each day in California Aug. & Sept. 1851. He is evidently involved in gold mining. #393 shows a postmark on a letter sent to him in Sacramento from Platte City, MO. Stamped Jun 25 in Platte City, but year is not included.
(Perhaps the actual day book is part of the SJM collection, but was not able to ascertain such from database search on date of this entry).
