Description

Annual Report of the Board of Regents of the Smithsonian Institution showing the operations, expenditures, and condition of the Institution year ending June 30, 1899. A penny postcard, probably used as a bookmark, addressed to H. L. George and from H. B. Reynolds Co. and dated Sep. 25, 1919, is interesting. This is the contents of the message: "Gentlemen--Would you be interested in a Moth Exterminator far superior to the moth ball? We have the most effective Moth Destroyer made. Destroys both the moth and larvae. We also manufacture a Catnip Mouse, an up-to-date novelty that attracts unbounded attention, and is a steady repeater. Good money in handling such a steady repeater. Beneficial toy for kittens, used for fun-making, premium, etc. Good window attractor. May we send samples and prices?" 598/Hardbound/Illustrations.
