2009.3.48Description
South Pass, crossing the Continental Divide, is the focal point of many of the great and exciting events in the winning of the American West. The Oregon Trail, the California Trail, and the Mormon Trail passed through it. Indians, Mountain Men, cowboys all knew it. Pony Express riders thundered across it, and the first transcontinental telegraph line was strung under its bleak cliffs. A chapter titled, "The XP Ponies" is found on pages 85 to 98. The book is signed by the author. This book is from the Don Reynolds collection.
