This building was erected in 1858
The college located at 12th & Henry operated from 1867 until 1927
The school was named St Joseph Commercial College
The Brothers later renamed it to Christian Brothers College
Due to the outbreak of the Civil War, the first classes were not held until Sept 5, 1867
In 1868, the Brothers also opened a grade school for boys in the St Patrick's Church area at 11th & Monterey and it operated through the 19th Century. The building still stands today
The Brothers moved the school to a new location in 1927
This became Christian Brothers High School located at Noyes and Union
