In 1896, St Joseph High School was located on the east side of 13th Street between Messanie & Olive on Carpenters Hill over looking the town
St Joseph High School was renamed Central High School when Benton High School opened in 1905
In 1933 a new Central High School was built at 2602 Edmond
The tall tower was modified and the building was also used for Roosevelt Junior High School from 1931 until 1942.
The building was razed and an Armory now sits at this location.
