STUDENT UNION "THE GROTTO"
10th & Edmond
Originally, this was the 1st Christian Church located on the Northeast corner of 10th & Edmond.
It later became the home of St Joseph Junior College's Student Union called the "GROTTO".
In 1959, it was painted white (see photo #13)
It was located across the street from the college.
It was torn down in the mid 60's and converted into a parking lot.
This was a favorite hangout for students between classes, playing cards (usually Pitch) and eating their great sandwiches, such as their 35 cent "Chili and Cheese on Rye" - I would love to have their chili recipe.
