Bill Bennett ends 45-year Career.
South Side Elwood owed to a very few inches. It was a simple matter of arithmetic that the levee protecting Rosecrans Memorial Airport and Elwood, Kan. failed July 25, while the one on the Missouri side kept the South Side dry. The South St. Joseph Levee was a few inches higher.
